Art and craft coexist in your weaving and spinning. Imagination can be realized only through machinery – the loom and the spinning wheel. I wrote this book to help you keep your loom and spinning wheel performing optimally, so they do not get in the way of your work. First, foremost and most simply, you must keep the machinery square, tight, lubricated and clean. To succeed, I begin with naming the parts of the loom and spinning wheel, so we have a common language. I then tell you what to do with your loom, then with your spinning wheel, and finally with the other tools you use every day. This monograph is in its ninth edition, being in development since I built Marcy Petrini’s first loom in 1976.
